Solid Oak Floor Range and Prices

We only sell French oak, widely accepted as being the finest oak in the world. It is very similar to English but the French have more of it – most of ours was felled to fuel the industrial revolution and to build ships to beat the French! Like English oak, it has beautiful grain and plenty of character and importantly is a sustainable resource.

Solid Oak floors have a deserved reputation for healthy living, cleanliness, environmental benefits and, with the advent of new processes over the last few years, ease of maintenance. But aside from all the benefits, there is nothing quite so lovely to live with as a beautiful wooden floor, suiting both modern and traditional homes.

Our oak comes in three grades and widths from 85mm to 190mm, varying board lengths up to about 2.10m. Thickness is 21mm (except the 85/105mm which is 19.3mm) tongue and grooved on all four sides.

Select. Prime grade oak to give a smooth even finish. Beautiful grain, some small knots, nothing larger than 1” looks great in a clean modern setting.

Character. More knots, up to 2” tolerated in this grade and the same beautiful grain helps to give your floor even more character.

Tavern. A lovely rustic floor, absolutely perfect for a cottage or older property, large knots, end splits, burrs and heart shake and worm holes add to the timeless effect.

Some like their knots open and some filled! If you like the character grade look but want all your knots filled we do a pre sanded and filled floor "Sanded and Filled" (see price info for more details). If you want to fill a few of the larger knots we recommend Wudcare products "Wood Repair Filler" and keep it in stock.

You can stain your floor to achieve different colours and bring out the grain, or leave it natural. A hard wax oil protects the wood and allows easy maintenance.
